What Isn't Checked
A Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) is a safety check, not a comprehensive mechanical evaluation. Here is what is excluded from the test.
The roadworthy inspection test isn't a check of the mechanical reliability or general condition of a vehicle. A certificate of Roadworthiness does not mean that:
- ✕The vehicle is in top condition without any wear or deterioration.
- ✕Non-safety related accessories (such as air conditioner, rear window demister, electric windows and rear-window wipers) are working.
- ✕The items checked during the roadworthy inspection will continue to function after the inspection - a brake light can stop functioning at any time after inspection.
- ✕The vehicle complies with all of the Australian Design Rules (ADRs).
If You Require a Comprehensive Vehicle Inspection
If you require a comprehensive check on the overall condition and reliability of the vehicle then you should arrange for a separate independent vehicle inspection.
* Casey Brake & Clutch focuses strictly on safety-related items specified under Victorian regulations for RWC issuance.

What If Your Vehicle Fails?
Don't worry — failing is simple to resolve. Here is the exact step-by-step process and the official Victorian 14-day rules.
Get Your Defect Report
If your vehicle doesn't pass the initial safety check, we will give you a clear defect report.
This report shows exactly which parts failed standards (like worn brakes, bald tyres, or cracked windscreens) so you know exactly what needs to be fixed.
Carry Out Safety Repairs
You have exactly 14 calendar days from the inspection date to fix the safety issues listed in your report.
Book Your Re-Inspection
Bring your vehicle back within the 14-day window. We will verify that the defects have been correctly repaired.
Once approved, we will issue your official Certificate of Roadworthiness immediately.
